The Quiet Journey

About Carla

The Journey

A decade inside the industry. Now working for you.

Carla Bostock has spent over a decade at SnapCab, a North American tailored acoustic privacy room manufacturer, leading creative direction across product aesthetics, user experience, and brand. The role has put her in close collaboration with product designers, engineers, production teams, material vendors, architects, and clients, giving her a deep understanding of every stage of the privacy room industry, from how products are made to how they perform once installed.

Designing Quiet is the independent, practitioner-led platform she founded from that vantage point. It exists to answer the questions Carla has heard inside the industry and to offer architects, interior designers, and workplace planners honest, practitioner-level guidance on acoustic privacy solutions. Her work has been recognized internationally, including Best of NeoCon, the Paris Design Award, the Architecture Masterprize, the Good Design Award, the HiP Award, and the Built Design Award. She founded and directs the Space to Be You international design competition, and her perspective has been featured in Interior Design, Sandow Media, and Delve Magazine.

Why Designing Quiet Exists

The industry grew faster than the guidance.

The number of privacy pod manufacturers has surged from fewer than ten to more than two hundred in less than a decade. Most decision-makers still lack a framework to evaluate claims about acoustics, ventilation, lighting, and compliance, and most of the available information comes from the people trying to sell the product. Designing Quiet is built to fill that gap. Drawing on years of insider experience, plus the collective expertise of the engineers, product designers, fabricators, and client-facing specialists Carla has worked alongside, the platform brings practitioner-level guidance directly to the people specifying these spaces.
